Having tested of a range of signal provider (and EA) review and replication services we selected ZuluTrade as our preferred interface for Live testing of signal providers.

Live Testing Approach

We created a account for live testing in September 2011, then reviewed and selected some initial signal providers to add to our account from the Performance tab in the Zulutrade interface. Selection of providers is a very personal thing and we would recommend keeping the number of signal providers as small as possible on your account.

We tried to choose complimentary systems, i.e. different strategies working on different sessions (Asia, US, UK), with some from the top ten current rankings on ZuluTrade plus some lower down the rankings for any newer provider systems that were racing up through the rankings.

Our live testing account is used to double check how a provider system works, max drawdown etc. From here we then select complimentary systems to apply to our main live trading account.

By end of November we had removed a couple of systems which had extremely large drawdowns and selected two initial systems to be applied to a main live trading account.

On 8 December 2011 we created a new live account funded with $1,000 to share our progress with visitors to this site throughout 2012 to see what the actual ROI of these two systems combined will be.
